Our eyes are one of the key ways we communicate, and they are one of the first features other people notice about you. But if they’re showing signs of aging, or you’re self-conscious about sagging or excess skin and fat around the eyes, it can make you feel hesitant to approach people or self-conscious about your appearance.

How to reduce and eliminate crow’s feet

Posted by Renee Marshall on Apr 23, 2015 8:30:00 AM

As you grow older, you may notice that the crow’s feet around your eyes will become more pronounced. Crow’s feet are typically viewed as a normal part of the aging process, and can be caused by smiling, squinting, and sleeping. When you smile, take note of the small lines that extend from the corners of your eyes out toward your temples. Then, stop smiling to see if those lines go away. If the lines stay in place, it means that you have crow’s feet.

Tired of looking tired? Lower lid blepharoplasty maybe the answer.

Posted by Renee Marshall on May 15, 2014 1:10:00 PM

It makes sense that what we use to look at others — our eyes — also happens to be the area of the face that others look at to see signs of aging in us. Our eyes are responsible for a lot, after all. Besides seeing, they also convey how we’re feeling, expressing emotions as we experience them. And there’s a reason romantic comedies usually feature the guy telling his friends the thing he noticed about a certain girl was her eyes. The downside of being so intricate to our lives and our looks is the delicate nature of the components that they consist of. That delicate nature makes the eyes, and skin around them, susceptible to the effects of the sun (ultraviolet light exposure), gravity, and repetitive movements. In other words, wrinkles, drooping, and bags under the eyes. As we age, these effects only become more pronounced, which in turn makes the signs of aging more obvious. A cosmetic procedure called a lower lid blepharoplasty can go a long way toward correcting these signs of aging around the eyes, especially the dreaded under eye bags, which is one of the major reasons the procedure has become so popular.

Blepharoplasty, anyone?

Posted by Paul Gorman on Apr 18, 2012 3:30:00 PM

We frequently get asked about lines and wrinkles around the eyes and on the upper and lower eyelids.  These areas are so visible, and really encompass the focal point when we look at one another.  As with any other area, time and the environment gradually chip away at the firmness of youth.  The result?  An aged appearance, lines, wrinkles, perhaps some puffiness, and excess skin.

Botox Cosmetic and Xeomin may be the answer - a great choice for smoothing lines and wrinkles between the brows (frown lines), on the forehead, and crow's feet (smile lines next to the eyes).  Botox works by calming the tiny muscles in the face that pull on the skin.  Less pull, smoother skin.
