5 keys to getting the best tummy tuck results

Posted by Renee Marshall on Jan 29, 2015 8:00:00 AM

A tummy tuck, which is also known as abdominoplasty, is an ideal cosmetic surgery procedure for those who want to tighten and have excess fat removed from their tummies, or abdominal regions. Even after engaging in vigorous exercise routines meant to tone and tighten their abs, many people find it difficult to get a flat stomach after having given birth, lost an excessive amount of weight, or having simply aged and grown older. Thankfully, a tummy tuck can achieve what diet and exercise may not be able to do as effectively.

Is a tummy tuck right for you?

Abdominoplasty, which is more commonly known as a tummy tuck, is a surgical procedure that flattens your abdomen and improves its contour. During a tummy tuck, any loose, excess fat and skin is removed from your belly, and the muscles in your abdominal wall are tightened. In many cases, a tummy tuck can also remove stretch marks in your lower abdominal region that may have developed as a result of being pregnant or carrying excess weight.

A cosmetic surgery procedure for all seasons

A quick look at the extended forecast should erase any doubt you might have about it. And the “it” is that the weather in the Bay Area, and in Redwood City specifically, is pretty much perfect. Unless, of course, you’re anti-sunshine. Good weather means a lot of things. Barbecues are being fired up more often than they were, say, two months ago. Swimming pools are suddenly an everyday option, and an appealing one at that. If you have allergies, you’re no doubt aware of the pollen in the air. It’s summertime! Cosmetic procedures might be more on the mind with the more ubiquitous sunshine, as well. After all, the term “beach body” is one most are quite aware of. We all deserve to like the way we look in a bathing suit — and if a cosmetic procedure can help you achieve that feeling, then now might very well be the time to go for it!

Tummy Tuck: Getting the Most from Your Weight Loss

Posted by Renee Marshall on Jul 1, 2013 3:47:00 PM

Life isn’t always fair. How often have we heard that said? Either to you or by you. The saying covers quite the spectrum, too. As adults, it’s something we know all too well. One example you might be dealing with yourself is how uncooperative our bodies can be after a dramatic weight loss. You put in the work, the exercise and the sweat. You changed your diet and stepped it up in the healthy eating department. Or maybe you opted for a procedure to enable you to drop a significant amount of weight. In any case, you dropped the weight. And how does your body repay you? With a collection of loose, saggy skin around your stomach that not only serves as an unpleasant, constant reminder of your former excess weight, but poses a real health risk. In this kind of situation, a tummy tuck could make a lot of sense.

Mommy MakeOver : Get Your Body Back!

Posted by Renee Marshall on Jun 17, 2013 4:22:00 PM

It’s something men don’t have to worry about, and it’s something men might not even be able to fully understand. Women who have had a child know just how much of a toll childbirth has on the body, let alone multiple childbirths. When it comes time to try and get that pre-baby body back, every woman is unique. Some bounce back quickly with relative ease. Others don’t. In fact, it’s not uncommon for a mother to diet and exercise postpartum in an effort to regain their physique, and not be able to quite get there. Maybe the breasts just don’t bounce back quite right. Maybe there’s saggy skin around the abdomen that won’t go away. These are some of the reasons that “mommy makeovers” are on the rise in the United States. More and more mothers are refusing to accept the negative effects of childbirth on their bodies and are working with their cosmetic surgeons to help them re-achieve pre-baby physique. And why not?

Don't we all dream of having that perfect bikini belly, a flat, sculpted abdomen you are proud to show off to the world.  And we are willing to try just about anything to get it, especially if it does not involve dieting or exercise. There are pills, drinks, diet plans and " in only 10 minutes a day" equipment all promising that perfect swimsuit tummy.  The latest craze, The Tummy Tuck Belt, suggests that 10 minutes twice a day is all it takes to lose inches from your abdomen and get tummy tuck results. It reminds me of the old adage "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

Posted by Paul Gorman on Dec 5, 2011 3:38:00 AM

What is a tummy tuck, anyway? Sounds a little scary.

For the jargon inclined, the term ‘abdominoplasty’ will do just fine. A tummy tuck involves removing fat and skin from the lower part of the belly in order to improve the overall shape and contour.
